OK I’m a few days late on this, but I just wanted to spend a moment to revel in the Red Sox victory in the World Series. In some ways it was a bit anti-climactic in that it finished away from Fenway and was a sweep (though I’m grateful for the sweep because this was a major distraction from all that I have to do!). Curt Schilling is my new her0. I cannot imagine what it is like in Boston…. that will probably be the greatest ticker-tape parade for a championship team in history. We only lived there a short time, but long enough to recognize what a deep place the Sox occupy in the Boston psyche. I read an article where a guy was talking about how he was buying t-shirts and hats to drape over tombstones for those who lived there entire lives longing for this day and didn’t get to see it. Sounds kind of pathetic when you stop and think about it, but there’s no doubt in my mind that this guy was not the only one doing that. I’m really pleased that the Sox finally got the monkey off their back.
