If the weather guys here in Louisville are to be believed, then folks here are in for a white Christmas – and a really frigid one at that. Overnight rain tonight is supposed to turn into sleet and snow sometime tomorrow, probably late morning. When its all said and done there will be 4-8 inches of snow on the ground, and it won’t be going anywhere as temps are supposed to be in the crazy-cold range. Christmas morning it will be 0 here in Louisville.
So we’re trying to bump up our travel plans.
Here’s a nice anecdote sure to warm your heart. I’m sure many will be reminded of what Christmas has become when they see this story about three people brawling over a parking space over the weekend in front of Toys R Us. Nice.
We had a nice time at the Wares with several other couples last night. One interesting part of the evening was singing some Christmas carols (hymns, to be technical). It occurred to me that I hadn’t really heard any this year. In the malls the only songs with lyrics are the typical Wintermas songs about snow or reindeer and stuff, any traditional Christmas songs are played with orchestral arrangements, not lyrics. Some of these hymns have really rich lyrics, though, especially when you get into some of the stanzas not normally sung.
I may write more later.
