I came across an interesting story from the mission field. Recently a large crowd, including government leaders and dignitaries gathered around an outdoor baptistry behind a baptist chapel in Lusaka. They watched as the president of Zambia, Levy Mwanawasa, and his wife were baptized.
Earlier, inside the chapel, the president and his wife told their stories, explaining that they had been “struck” by Jesus as they began exploring the Bible and visiting the Twin Palm Baptist Church in 2003.
Missionaries who are familiar with Mwanawasa believe his conversion is the real deal and those close to him attest to a change in his life.
