My mother-in-law made a comment worth repeating here. Speaking of the impending arrival of her grandson, she speculated that he would probably come soon in order to catch more of the college football season.
It’s too bad he missed opening weekend, because his Bulldogs just pulverized #18 Boise St, led by a near flawless performance from QB DJ Shockley, raising the expectations and the excitement level for the upcoming season. He also missed Uncle Drew’s Georgia Tech Yellowjackets upsetting Auburn at Auburn in an impressive debut. He also missed Aunt Kathryn’s Clemson Tigers managed to upset Texas A&M, not that he would care. He missed one Grandpa’s South Carolina Gamecocks winning, albeit in underwhelming fashion, and missed his other Grandpa’s Florida State Seminoles finally stick it to arch-rival Miami – in poetic justice they won when Miami botched what would have been a late game-tying field goal. Lastly, he missed his current home-team beat the instate rival in a game that was much closer than expected.
Anyway, he’ll hopefully catch some good games later and we’ll have fun watching them together. Incidentally, you can still participate in our little baby guessing game. I may try Audioblogger (calling and dictating a blog entry from a phone) when we leave for the hospital or something, so the news will break here first…
