Well I just can’t help myself. I read an account of the men’s figure skating competition tonight and feel compelled to pass along what must be one of the great figure skating quotes of all time. American Johnny Weir was in second place heading into tonight’s competition, where apparently he blew it. He apparently stormed out of the rink when his scores were announced. And then he gave us this gem:
“I missed the bus. They changed the schedule,” Weir said. “It was every 10 minutes. Today it was every half-hour. I was late getting here and never caught up. I never felt comfortable in this building. I didn’t feel my inner peace. I didn’t feel my aura. Inside I was black.”
Like I said before, figure skating is all about the drama…
